The Choys – Mar 2012

It was an aeroplane season.

5 weeks after coming back from Cuba we headed to Melbourne, Australia, to witness some very special moments for a very good friend, the one for whom I was the maid of honour and threw the fun-filled tram party – she became a mother to an adorable baby girl this February.

Now being Auntie Janice, I couldn’t help but showered baby with things I’m good at making – a colourful baby mobile (can turn into a wreath) and of course, many photographs as keepsakes. I won’t bore my readers with all of them. Below is a fine selection of this wonderful memory.

Also, during our stay, we celebrated Sam’s birthday. Bet the baby is the best gift a father can ask for!

To Joanne, Sam, and Charlene! xoxo

The Philips – Apr 2011

Almost exactly a year ago I took photos for the Philips. There were 3 of them, and little Levi was 7 months old. A year later, it became 4 – how adorably delightful! Timi, who was 3 months old at the time of the session and cute as a button, is the latest addition.

Shooting this nostalgic, vintage series at home was mummy’s idea, which I instantly fell for, to create/recreate an image of a perfect weekend at home with children. Of course, it’d have to include some real life pancake cooking in an open kitchen. For those hours I was at their loft home, I thought I went to photographer’s heaven – wonderfully laid back parents and children, all at ease, laughing, loving, trusting, doing what they’d be as if I wasn’t there. The aroma of monstrous homemade pancakes filled the rest of my senses. Getting to eat it too just put me over the top! What more can I ask for on a perfectly warm and sunny weekend?

Love you guys!

The Changs – Jan 2011

After the tram party, my next assignment was to photograph the Chang family, who came all the way to Hong Kong that week. It was unusually chilly when they were in Hong Kong, so shooting indoors seemed to be the best choice, especially for Baby S.E., the then 2-month-old. I’ve read much about the pregnancy, and have seen photos of the baby before we met, that it seemed I’ve already known her, when this was actually our first meeting.

These three made such a cute family! The little one was particularly fun to observe, her facial expressions mirror much of her proud parents. To me, she’s a real deal of 50% mum and 50% dad.

Hope you guys like the photos! Looking forward to seeing you all again some time in the future…

Lochdale Family Photo Night – Nov 2010

An interesting photo gig entered my radar when my colleague, Max, and I exchanged stories on what we did at our respective home fronts over the weekend. Before long, I was in touch with Max’s wife, Helen, who linked me up with the original photographer, Tracey, who’d be moving away, that’s why they need someone to do the assignment – a fund-raising family photo night at a community school.

Ever adventurous, I did my first studio shoot, setting up and all, at the school’s library. Here are some proofs of my bold attempt.

Thanks to the families who generously gave me their permission to publish their photos on my blog. I hope you like them enough, that if next year I’m doing it again, you’d be back again. *smile*

Families featured (alphabetically):
Acimovic, Chan, Correia, De Marchi, Gagnon, McLean, Nagy, Sam, and Tossavainen.
